Yaw Steering

Yaw Steering is a technique used in several satellites. Due to Earth rotation during data acquisition the images will appear with a noticeable rhomboidal distortion. This effect is compensated during data take by yaw steering the satellite with a variable angle, dependent on the satellite latitude.
